Callstats.io Joins World Wide Web Consortium

We are excited to announce that starting from 2016 callstats.io will be an official member of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). W3C is an international community where its member companies and the public work together to develop international standards for the World Wide Web.

callstats.io is an active contributor to the IETF and W3C, which are the standards organizations related to WebRTC. Apart from taking part in discussions related to various WebRTC APIs, Varun Singh (callstats.io) along with Harald Alvestrand (Google) are the co-authors of the WebRTC statistics API.

You can find us already in the list of members at W3C. Previously, Varun’s work at the W3C was affiliated with Aalto University where he finished his PhD in 2015 and we thank Aalto University for supporting the research work so far. As callstats.io is now a member of W3C, the upcoming revisions of the existing drafts will see the change in affiliation and all future work at W3C will be affiliated with callstats.io.

We will continue contributing to WebRTC standardization as it is getting closer to version 1.0, and the next version is already on the horizon. The W3C has a good framework under which startups can join and collaborate along the biggest companies in the world.
