We are a startup based in Helsinki, Finland. Callstats.io is our first product, built to monitor and manage the media quality in realtime communication applications. We often refer to callstats.io as “Google Analytics for WebRTC”. Our vision is a world where communication is both frictionless and effortless to set up, operate, and scale.

We collect millions of network and media quality metrics from our customers around the world. We analyze, cluster, and categorize them based on various attributes. Our cloud infrastructure creates reports and alerts the customers when their users experience degrades. Our systems also attempt to automagically fix issues. The optimizations empower our customers to provide a superior service quality compared to their competitors.

Our team is made up of engineers that have shipped code for various networking companies. Our engineers write great code, test it, care about performance, and pragmatically tackle the technical debt. Meanwhile, improving maintainability of our code base.

Job description

You will be building the top of the line analytics pipeline that is fault-tolerant and performs analysis on data in real-time. You have experience in building or managing big data solutions. You have strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, statistics, and networking.

You get to use any mathematical toolbox (simple statistical measures, machine learning, Bayesian statistics, etc) that would help diagnose multimedia and networking issues in real-time communication platforms. Lastly, you love prototyping and playing with data. If that’s you, introduce yourself and let’s build great things together!

What we expect from you

• You have an interest in machine learning and statistics, and have experience applying it to practical problems, for example, filtering, classification, clustering, ranking, recommendation, prediction or inference.
• You are proficient in any two of the following: Python, Javascript, or Java.
• You are proficient in at least one big data technology: Hadoop, HBase, Storm, MongoDB, etc.
• You have an eye for data visualization and are an expert at time series analysis.
• Minimum three years of experience.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
