Last week, we attended ClueCon 2018, an annual technology conference for developers by developers held by the FreeSWITCH team. The event looks to bring individuals together to discuss VoIP, open-source software and hardware, telecommunications, WebRTC, and IoT.
It was a great opportunity for our team to meet with leaders in the industry, as well as team-build and get some great insights into the telecommunications community. Here are some of our callstats.io takeaways from the event.
ClueCon 2018 Talks by Our Team
This year, we participated in several talks and roundtable discussions on the state of WebRTC and artificial intelligence.

Binoy, our product manager, gave a presentation on artificial intelligence for real-time communications. He discussed the link between optimal media quality for real-time communications and artificial intelligence. Specifically, he talked about how callstats.io uses artificial intelligence to optimize media quality based on number of end-users, locations, device capabilities, and network conditions.

Varun, our CEO, gave a presentation on how to detect problems with your real-time communications and how to prevent them. He also participated in two roundtable discussions with other industry leaders on WebRTC and artificial intelligence in real-time communications.
In the WebRTC roundtable, Varun discussed the metrics that measure service quality on a day-to-day basis to show long-term trends in real-time communication. In the artificial intelligence roundtable, Varun and others delved into how artificial intelligence is currently impacting the real-time communications industry and what to look for in the future.
Team-building for Remote Teammates
ClueCon 2018 was also a great opportunity to connect with our remote teammates. Allie and Carl from our marketing department were both able to attend the conference from Boston. Carl has just recently come on board as our product marketing expert, so this was a great opportunity for him to meet Varun and Binoy in person, as well as get a real feel for our company and the community.

Our team was even able to attend a free dinner at Fogo de Chao thanks to a giveaway by the FreeSWITCH team. It was a great opportunity to meet more people from FreeSWITCH, as well as bond with our remote teammates. We have met previously with some members of the FreeSWITCH team, as Varun has taken part in their ClueCon Weekly series.
